Friends I have a nice swing ring CWCCo. case wrapped around my Hamilton 946. I'm trying to find out what quality GF this case is-20 year? 25 year? I also have a 16s CWCCo. case that is similarly lacking data.
Pics say it better...I can't help but add a shot of the dial and movement :)

Very Nice!

Can't help with the case but it looks like a better quality to me.

Yes,she must be 20 year but I'm kind of hoping the silence,so to speak,would mean 25. :)
Dueber did that kind of thing with an anchor and/or the word "SPECIAL", and someone (or two) used "EXTRA" for example.

Marty,
From what I could research this is a later CWC Co. case and is in fact a 20 year case. This one would have been produced around the late 1800's up to 1904 when they were bought out by Philadelphia Watch Case Company. If it had been labeled Lafayette or Americus Vespucius it would have been a 25yr case. To my knowledge these were the only two cases that held the higher warranty standard...

There were others such as the Century, Pioneer (also used by Waltham), Columbus, Planet (10K 15yr) and yours which just bears the company name. The majority were 20yr 10K cases except the name brand one (yours) which is 14K and the two best one's mentioned above would have had the thickest layer of 14K gold plating. Hope this helps...

Yes it does Ray-thank you.
Does anyone else ever have trouble interpreting some of the "Trade Marks" data? I just can't be sure of how to look at it sometimes. Very troubling when you know the answer is there. Somewhere. :?
