Went to a elite jeweler in Hillcrest, California today...the guy broke this out and asked if I knew anything about it...about the size of a big

silver dollar..chimes every quarter hour...2 keys ..on for chimes one for movement...could not see the movement..to scared to be the one to break it..hahaha..here she is...MT

That is an extremely rare Swiss repeater, one of the very few built that were powered by a small nuclear reactor housed in what looks like a main spring barrel.
Watch your cojones around that thing, Ski, and stay out of the high end jewlelry stores.

It is a continental quarter repeater from the late 1700's. Probably Austrian judging from the paste stones and engraving on the sides of the movement.

It needs to be working properly for it to get a good price which depending on who made it anywhere from $3,500 up to $9,000.

I also think it uses bells instead of gongs - but here I am guessing.
