What is it

New postby perby » Sun Sep 16, 2018 2:20 am

I purchased this bronze ( brass ) piece today at a yard sale, and I am trying to identify it. It is a figure I am sure I have seen somewhere, but do not know where.
Anyone recognize it ? It almost looks like a hood ornament, but think it is to large being about a foot tall, with a 8" wingspan!!
Thanks in advance,
Bill

I thought "hood ornament" too, but you are right about it being a bit large for that. Whatever it is, it is absolutely lovely.

Perhaps it could be Greek Goddess Nike. Maybe it is a Trophy top.

Phil,
You hit the nail on the head. I found one although smaller and not brass, but the same figure.
Thanks to all who answered,
Bill
