Elgin 266 model aircraft clock

This clock is currently for sale on Ebay. I have Googled the model number and cant find anything.
Hope someone can help.

I sincerely doubt that number (266) is the model number of the Elgin movement in that case. It may be a government control number like for inventory or it might even be the number of what airframe that particular clock goes to.

Perhaps we will never know as its meaning may be lost somewhere in WWII paperwork.
