Ten Man Pace Racing Bicycle

The Orient (Oriten) Ten Man Pace Racing bicycle was made by the Waltham Manuacturing Company Waltham Mass. in 1879. This photo was taken along the banks of the Charles River Massachusetts. Top speed was 45mph. The gentlemen riding this bike are members of the Dunlop Racing Team from England. The photo can be seen at the CRMI, Waltham, Mass.

I would think this old, it had coaster brakes. Wow 45 mph, thats moving along at a good speed.

Not to get too technical about it ... the power to weight ratio increases as you accommodate more riders. :geek: :)
