Making a tailstock turret for the watchmaker's lathe

New postby mars-red » Tue Jun 20, 2017 12:46 am

I took a break from the Trent Pinion Mill build to enter Emma Ritson's toolmaking challenge. This project, a miniature tailstock turret for my Sincere watchmaker's lathe, is my entry to the competition. I believe she is going to be announcing the winner at the Bar Z Summer Bash this coming weekend. I am working on a detailed build writeup with photos, but for now here are a few photos of the completed turret, and also my official submission video. Submission videos are limited to 20 minutes in length, which was difficult for this build because I had over 15 hours of raw footage. In the end, I got it down to about 14 minutes. I do plan on doing a separate video series showing more detailed construction of the turret, at a later date.
