Friends, can anyone help me dissemble this #946 barrel wheel and plate? I'm really at a loss...I will attach a "normal" #924 plate and wheel first for comparison.

Marty,

There is talk on this old NAWCC thread that what you have is a press fit together. Jim Haney was involved in this thread. You could try to PM him and see if he knows anymore about it now.

https://mb.nawcc.org/threads/hamilton-940-motor-barrel-disassembly-q.21595/

Under magnification lioking at the ends of the hub or gear do you see any hints that there are threads? Obviously if it did unscrew it would be in the opposite direction it winds the spring right?

Phil I am the middle man here-I'll pass that on immediately. I hope this is just a case of "duh". ;)

Is there such a thing as a parts list anywhere ?
If there was and you could see what parts were available for this it might give you a hint how it comes apart or if it does.
If for example it is a press fit it might not be designed to come apart.
Half the stuff we buy these days is designed that way
Learning all the time.

We got it-it was reverse threaded in. I really had to ask around for answers on this one! Apparently some #940's have these parts also.
