Chelsea clock repairs.

New postby veritas » Sun Jun 14, 2015 1:42 pm

I have recently been doing a clean and oil on a Chelsea clock, time only, made about 1943. This one has been worked on in the past, it has bushings within bushings. In pretty good shape with no major problems, just was very dirty. I bought a reprint from the 50,s, its on a cd for the repair of these clocks. Interesting that the time keeping of these was something alowable like 2 mins a day i think. Also in the manual it states about replacing parts and not to do any machining . Also found out it has 18,000 beats per hour. I am not lucky with platforms so my buddy will clean and oil this one for me.
