Vacheron & Constantin for Bigelow, Kennard & Co.

New postby JerryT » Mon Jun 04, 2018 6:10 am

One of my favorite private-labels is Bigelow, Kennard & Co. They were a premier Boston jeweler with roots going back to the around 1830. At various times in their history they had movements made for their store by English, Swiss and American makers. I have shown several Waltham watches for Bigelow, Kennard & Co. in the past, but here is a beautiful little pendant watch with a movement by Vacheron & Constantin. The watch dates from around 1904. The case was probably made for BK&Co by Jeannot & Schiebler. The movement measures 12 lignes, or about 4/0. I also show it next to a couple of Waltham pendant watches for BK&Co (0-size and 6/0).
