Screw threads

Simple question the screws in watch movements are they the same threads or are there imperial and metric threads.

Most of the thread pitches are different among American Watch Co's, and there was no metric, to my knowledge. You need to pick from the same company for each repair, for your own sanity.

Interesting topic. I need some movement screws for a 18 sz Hampden, i like the ones with the full round heads. I wondered if a 18 sz Waltham screw would work for a 18 sz Hampden watch.

Kevin,probably not-but sometimes you can find acceptable substitutes in a pinch. The higher quality movements usually had the beveled heads;I'm partial to blued screws on a movement against nickel plates.
