What it does

Horological tools .. What are their functions and how do they work? Questions and explanations here.

What it does

New postby Stephan » Fri Jun 18, 2010 12:40 am

As I read through the posts in this thread I notice a couple of tools discussed where the tools use is not obvious.

The Ingold Fraise is a recent example.

If anyone is interested I think it would be a useful addition to our site to have a thread marked "how it works"
where some of these interesting items could be discussed at length and their function demonstrated.

A few pictures showing what it does or how it is used would be an interesting addition to this section and I am sure many would find such instruction of interest.

Sure we can look these things up in a book but it might be a bit of fun to try and demonstrate them here.

Just a thought.

Good idea. Where would you like to see it?

I would keep it in the tools and equipment section with the rest of the tool related threads.

OK, folks. We have a new sub-forum and I've transferred this topic.

Please start a new topic for each tool that you would like to discuss.

Thanks for the idea, Steve.

Enjoy!
