Lone Star Regional

New postby MikeM » Mon Feb 20, 2012 6:22 am

I plan to attend the Lone Star Regional (March 2-3) for the first time this year.

Is anyone else going?

I plan on being there.
If you are interested in clcoks they have 2 auctions scheduled.
One Thursday night and one Friday night.

There were some bargains last year but the clocks do look like a better lot this year.
Also normally there are several watch dealers at the regional with a good selection.
Hope to see you there.

Hi Pete,

The way things are looking, I will probably only be able to make it to the Mart on Saturday, but I think I will try to make Fridays auction.

I'm more of a pocket watch person myself, but I plan to drag my dad along with me (he needs to get out of the house) and he loves clocks.

Is there some sort of registration neccessary for the auctions, or can I just show up?

I believe that you must be an NAWCC Member and registered for the regional.
See this page for contact info to get answers: http://chapter124.com/RegPag.htm
You mentioned not showing up for the regional until Sat morning.
If you have been to regionals in the past you know several of the vendors will pack up and leave Fri afternoon.
They do this because they don't expect to make many sales on Sat and to cut expenses.
I plan on being there until around noon on Sat.
Hope to see you there.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for pointing that out to me. My problem is that I am flying into Austin on Thurs. evening after a long international flight, but if I feel well enough I guess there is no real reason I couldn't drive up to Dallas at around 3:00 the next morning. If all goes well of course.

I just renewed my NAWCC membership this month. I also just stuck the card in my wallet. Glad you reminded me!

Will you have a table?

Yes I will be set up at the regional.
I have some watches for sale. Mostly common low grade stuff but
do have a few higher grade watches. One up-down wind indicator.
What kind of watches are you interested in?
