'83 Appleton Tracy "Gold Plate" in the Fat Book

New postby L48X55 » Thu Aug 15, 2013 2:35 pm

Guys I was plundering thru the "Fat Book" the other day and found something I have never heard of. On page 113 in the Waltham Section about half way down the page there is Non-Magnetic in bold type. The next watch down is listed as AT&Co. '83 gold plate. Does anyone have one of these "gold plate" ATCo? If so would you be kind enough to post a picture?

Not sure if it was A&T but I sold a gold plated Waltham 18s junker-the whole thing looked plated. Obviously not gilt-very attractive.

I think this might be close. I have it described in my records as gold flashed.

Steve,I don't know if this is what I had or not. Mine looked rose gold and had a "gold filled" look if I'm making sense;very nice glossy-polished finish.

Very pretty, Dan. Waltham seems to have made the best gold flashing of them all. I have similar ones in a 0 size hunter and a model 1888 OF.
