Friends these are in the Guide priced at $110 to $300. The Railway is listed directly above the Railway KW,which is rare and much more desirable...and expensive.

There are a couple on ebay right now being sold by the same man. He seems to have confused these two listings...he claims the LS Railway is worth up to $1650!! I own a couple and sure wish they were!!

Have a look:

Marty,
Seems to be a lot of folks out there with "rare" watches these days. The term gets thrown around way to much and is used to try and associate added value to things being sold. I own all the railway series except the key wind myself and wish I had one. Nice one that you are showing here by the way...

I left the seller a message about this watch. More than likely, he did this deliberately to generate more income off it. There still is a chance he made an honest mistake because Shugartt didn't always list all the variants and in this case the HC movement Railway is missing from the list. Seller may have assumed that his must be the one under it, which is the key wind, oops...

Ray that's what I usually suspect when I see these things....I try to be understanding but got what I strongly feel was a brush off when I contacted him.

This is the response he gave me and as of this posting at 5:15pm he has not added it...

I think you are correct. I will post this in the auction for all to see. Thanks for the email. Sorry for any confusion, I missed the key wind part.

Which Shugartt book are you using? The one I have dated 2015 shows the Railway 15J as listing between $125-$375. (Shugartt did not always list the open face and HC separately). The one you are quoting the price for is the very rare key wind movement, which this one is not!

The thing that makes this all the worse is the seller outright lying about adding our conversation to the listing. Clearly he was out for the buck and quite dishonest. Watch out for him in the future...

Looks like it caught up to him. Relisted it last night. He toned it down quite a bit.
