A good news story

Postby Stephan » Tue Feb 02, 2010 7:05 am

This story is about a man, me, who bought something from ebay.
It was not a watch but it did have a serious value and so I was careful about the process and asked many questions.
The seller was a dealer with a large 100% feedback.
We came to an agreement on the price ( it had an offer button ) and payment was sent.
We used a direct wire transferee due to the amount. ( don't want to give paypal too much)
Payment was received and we were starting to arrange shipping when the wheels fell off.
The item was from a deceased estate and there had been a challenge to ownership of the item in question.

The seller was most apologetic but advised he would have to return the item.
Payment had gone through but the item had not been shipped.
A great disappointment. Talk about almost getting something.

Then comes the sending the payment back.
Alas there had been considerable movement in the exchange rate plus 2 sets of bank charges.
I ended up about $400 short.

I explained this to the seller who was surprised as his bank had not explained things to him.
He went and spoke to them again and got the sad story.
To finish the story I am happy to report the seller refunded me every cent I had originally paid.

There are some great sellers on Ebay and this is one I would be very happy to deal with again.
Sorry folks he does not sell watches.
TIA

I have a couple stories like that myself-not as interesting maybe, but they have that great ending. :D
Sharing good things is important to do. It's way too easy to see the bad, and we can end up like someone's mother in law.
Not mine,of course... ;)
