That's the 5 ball on the end and it is just about keeping time. Another day or two and it should be as good as it can be.
I have another one of these and it's really good, though it took a long time to get there.

Very nice collection of 400 day clocks. I will get back to my GB 400 day clock, sometime i hope.

You'll enjoy it I am sure.
I hadn't touched them for a few months and then a few weeks ago I got the bug again and have been busy since.
They are troublesome clocks as everything has to be lined up just perfectly, otherwise they won't go. It's all on a knife edge, with many variables, often complicated by the efforts and changes made by previous owners. For the plodder like me, the big plus is that everything is accessible and can be seen from all angles, which is a big step up from jiggling with unseen movements hidden from view inside wooden cases.
They are difficult, but when you get a success the result is very satisfying, and that's what it's all about.
